After welcoming colleagues from 中山华辰学校 to the UK last December, it was a pleasure to see
Hereford Cathedral School make the return visit
Dr Michael Gray —visiting their campus, meeting students, parents, and leadership in person.
What struck me wasn’t any single speech or agenda. It was the continuity. Conversations that first took shape through Chinese social media often long before any visit was planned, gradually moved online, then offline, and are now carried forward by people who genuinely know one another.
Hereford Cathedral School was one of the very first UK schools we worked with when they began exploring a thoughtful presence on Chinese social media, just over a year ago now. Not to “market”, but to be understood — to let values, educational thinking, and school culture speak quietly over time.
Since then, we’ve been fortunate to work with a growing group of UK independent schools, each engaging internationally in their own way, and at their own pace.
Seeing those early online conversations turn into real-world exchanges like this is quietly reassuring — and a reminder that when schools show up with intention, presence itself becomes the bridge.
